Project Runway Season 10 Ep 5

Well I think we are on episode 5… well anyway, Buffi was kicked off.  Her poor choice in fabrics and poor craftsmanship was a factor in her getting the boot.

On this episode, the designers are teamed up together to create work ready but editorial looks for Marie Claire magazine.  The designers will be working in 2 groups and a majority of the people hates this idea.  The designers will also get to be over the photo shoot for the look.  Because of the uneven numbers, one team will make five looks and the other will make six.

Team Six is already having issues.  Raul.
Team Five, great concept, Fall into Color…  There is gonna be a problem with this team. Gunnar.
After the designers come back from Mood, one of the bags for Team Six is missing. Elena might have a stroke. She doesn’t like the color pallet they chose; she doesn’t like a damn thing.

Let me just add this really quick cause if I hear one more designer say this I’m gonna freak out… They keep saying that they want to show their own personality as a designer.  PLEASE GET THE FUCK OVER YOURSELF.  The fashion world is ever changing and if you don’t change and keep shit fresh, you will get left behind.  You are never working alone; you are trying to please a client.  You can still be yourself and be cohesive part in a group challenge.

One way monkey…. No I ment one trick pony. HA!

I need Elena to be off this show.  She is very negative and a bitch.

The guest judge is Joanna Cole, editor of Marie Claire magazine.
For the first time in Project Runway history with a challenge like this, there is a tie.  They talk to Five and love the designs. Except for Gunner.
For the Six, they love everything expect for the ruffle top made by Raul.

Two puppies wrestling in a sack.  Boy they had some great lines.
No shock on who was kicked off today

Project Runway All Stars—Ep 9

In last week’s episode, we bid a farewell to Mila.  Her dress was not accepted by the judges.  I loved it because the concept of it was so different, but yet so Mila.    May I just add that Michael is becoming an annoying little man.  He just whines when he doesn’t get what he wants and I am so over it! And this chick is no Heidi Klum! So sorry for the interruption.
The challenge is to use light and technology into the designer’s creations. Basically your creation has to glow in the dark. We also found out who the guest judge was going to be for the episode, Pharell!  Pharell will use the winning creation in one of his upcoming artist’s video.  The budget was $300 dollars at the light and special effects shop and $100 at Mood.
The only one person out of tonights competitors that I really actually liked was, surprise, Kenley’s dress.  It was by far (In my opinion) the best.  It was creative and somehow strangely wearable.  Jerell’s was second… but when they changed it up during judging… the dress was so much better.  I was shocked how bored I was by Mondo’s dress.
Let me just say… the winner… BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  And the person who was kicked off… BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Project Runway All Stars—Ep 8

We are getting gown to the fip inal 6 and the competition is getting HOT!  Kara finally got the boot (she should have been kicked off awhile back, but I’m not a judge.)  I liked Kenley’s outfit, but it didn’t fit the particular guidelines of the challenge, but she made to it through the next round.

The beginning of the challenge takes place in front of the United Nations building and all are excited.  The challenge for the designers are to design a dress inspire by the flags of the country of the major world regions.  The countries are Chile, Greece, Jamaica, Papua New Guinea, India, and the Seychelles.   Each will select a flag and the colors and the culture will influence the look.  The budget was $200 dollars.

At first, some of the designers started off kinda rocky, making the dresses look too costumey.  I will say this, some of the costumes where completely out of the box, which is a good thing.  And some looked like they were about to enter a pageant!  The absolutely fabulous Catherine Malandrino was the guest judge for this challenge and was picked because she created an entire collection based on the American flag.  My faves where Jerell, Mila, Mondo and (shock) Kenley.  Kenley’s dress was sooo different from the rest and that makes it unique!

It’s down to the final five… who do you think is gonna win it?
