OOTD: Happy Birthday

The family was invited to celebrate of a close family friend at The Dixie House CafĂ©.  This place is home cookin’ at its finest.    I was sooo ready for the meal that I was about to have.  I already knew what I was planning to eat and I know that makes me sound like the ultimate fatty, but damn it was good. Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Fried Okra, Sweet Tea… ohh yea…

For this outfit, I busted out the good old trusty dark denim jeans again.  I rocked it with my black, baggy love sweatshirt.  It is the softest and one of my fave shirts in my wardrobe.

these are the only pics I could upload.  Why wont you let me be great!?

OOTD: Book Club

Sunday night was our monthly book club meeting.  For a book club, we have the best time.  One week we talk about the book, the next month it’s just a hanging out good time.  There are games, food and drink.  Oh and did I mention that there are always plenty of great people that are there.  We laugh for hours upon hours.

This month we went to Romano’s Macaroni Grill.  I was starving. I knew I was going to eat a heavy meal, I kinda starved myself.  Ok yea I know I shouldn’t do that, but…  I started off with the mac and cheese bites with truffle dip.  OMG it was sooo good.  Then I had Carmela’s Chicken which had oven roasted chicken, rigatoni, caramelized onions, mushrooms and a Marsala sauce.  It was the Bomb.com all the way.  For dessert I had tiramisu which I never really have and I savored every single bite.  I washed it all down with Peroni beer which I love.

I went shopping the day before at JC Penney’s and I saw this shirt on sale (cause you know I never pay full price) and I figured I’d wear it with some dark denim jeans and my favorite leopard flats…\

Influenster Winter Box--- VLOG

Material Girl

Ok I know I know I should be shopping for other people but there are so many deals out there, I just have to pick up a few things for myself.   I am a huge fan of the Material Girl line of clothing and accessories.  Even though I can’t rock the clothes, the accessories are beyond awesome.  Since it’s the holiday season, there are lots of sales going on and pretty much everything is super discounted, including the Material Girl accessories.  There was so much to look through! Necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets all on sale, and not just Material Girl products.  I went crazy.  Everything that was picked out was already 50 percent off, and if you used your Macy’s card, an additional 20 percent was taken off.  Oh, and on top of that, we had coupons.  Yea, that’s how we roll.
This right here... LOVE LOVE LOVE

I'm so loving the 70's vibe from this necklace!

Pop Culture Fashionista or Faux Fashionista: Amber Rose (again!)

Amber Rose has been spotted rocking a long dark brown wig… what do you guys think of the new look? I personally prefer the old Amber with the blond short hair…. Maybe if the wig was blond…

She kinda looks like Kimora Lee Simmons...

OOTD: If Rachel Zoe had an afro

Today’s outfit had a very bohemian vibe too it.  When I saw it, I instantly thought it was something Rachel Zoe would wear.  The dress is by American Rag and all their stuff had this hippy, free and 60’s vibe to it.  Normally I wouldn’t be attracted to it but for some reason, a few of their pieces gravitated towards me.  Because the top was very low cut, I wore a green tank under the dress to hide the goods.

The color on this pic.... ugh

Dress: American Rag (Macy’s)

OOTD: J&J’s wedding (pic heavy)

On Sunday, I was invited to the wedding of my friends and co-workers Josh and Jennifer.  The wedding and the reception was held out the downtown YWCA in Fort Worth.  It was the first time I had ever been in that building (even though I worked across the street for years.)  One half of the building is a reception hall and the other half is a place where women who are going through difficult times can stay and get help in their time of need.

The ceremony was held in the downstairs part of the building. The room was wasn’t overly decorated, simple and understated. It was a very beautiful Christmas wedding.  Josh looked so handsome in his white tuxedo jacket and all the bridesmaids came down the aisle with dark green dresses on. Each bridesmaid had a different style of dress on to suit each body type.  Jennifer looked AMAZING in a white strapless princess ball gown dress. After the ceremony, the guests where directed up stairs to start eating while the wedding party took pics. Upstairs the room was filled with winter white tables and candles on the tables. Simple and elegant. It was a wonderful wedding!

As the champagne started flowing, I started taking pictures.    Such a good time was had by all.  I didn’t want to wear anything to bright seeing as how this was a winter wedding and lucky for me after stopping at the avenue on Saturday, I found a long sleeved animal print dress and I rocked a huge cocktail ring with some open toe Mary Jane shoes.  Everyone looked fabulous!
