OOTD--- Extra Hours.

I know its few and far in-between that I do Outfit of the Day posts, so here it goes.   I worked in the back at my job which means NO UNIFORM. I love working the phones in the back because I get more commission sometimes than when I’m out on the floor.  I was tired of wearing my usual gray slacks that I always rock when I’m on the phones, so I decided to go with dark denim.    I also wore my favorite corduroy blazer.  I’ve had it for years and I rarely get to wear it.

INDULGE fashion show

Recently I was invited to go to a fashion show put on by the fashion magazine Indulge.  Indulge is a local magazine that helps keep people in the metroplex updated in fashion, style and everything else in between. I was invited by Danette Wicker, owner of Danette’s Urban Oasis.

The fashion show was held at the outside pool at the One Montgomery Plaza condo on the 3rd floor and this place was amazing. From every angle, the view of the skyline was amazing.

The event was held in the evening and they were well prepared for the chill in the air.  There were heat lamps and fire pits to keep all the people warm.  There were also plenty of free cocktails to also keep everyone warm.   The Indulge cocktail was created and it was a yummy treat for all who dared to try it.   It was chocolate and strawberry vodkas with a strawberry puree, club soda and a light dusting of chocolate on top.  It was the perfect cocktail for the evening.  The event was catered by Del Frisco’s and the food was divine. Prime rib sliders, lamb chops with goat cheese and bbq pork.  Everything was on point, except for the pork… just a tad too sweet for my taste.

The fashion show started around 7:30 and the fashions where from Dillard’s.  Nothing too special.  Basic dresses, nothing really caught my eye, but I took a few pics.
The pics wouldnt turn the right direction.... lol

The night rolled on… the music played, the drinks flowed.  Good times were had by all.

Blinc Mascara

When I opened my Birchbox for September, I was a bit disappointed.    I felt it was a bunch of stuff that I was really not excited about seeing.   A lip enhancer? Have you seen my lips, they are huge already!  A lash card? I really don’t need one of those. Mineral hand cream? Ok, yes I do need that and I have used it. LOVE IT.  That’s not the point of this blog…

I needed an awesome mascara for Saturday night’s activities (pics to come later.)  I am a huge fan of the Rimmel line of mascaras.  They coat my lashes oh so perfectly with the blackest of black colors and it makes my non-existent lashes pop.

I wanted to go for extremely dramatic lashes but I was too lazy to put on some fake lashes so I remembered in my Birchbox I had blinc mascara sample.  The instructions were simple…  Use on clean and dry lashes, apply 2 or more coats until you achieve desired effect and once set, additional coats cannot be applied.  The instant that I started to swipe the mascara on, my lashes looked instantly longer.  I think I put on four or five coats and it looked like that I had on fake lashes.  The removal the mascara, although difficult by the instructions, was really quite easy.  When you take blinc mascara off, it looks like little rubber tubes have fell off.  Be gentle because you might accidently pull some of your own out.

I am defiantly buying a full size of this product when I run out of the sample, which might be soon cause I’m addicted to having this long lush lashes.
