Hi, my name is lalaG and I’m a shopping addict. I really have no reason to go out for shopping on black Friday other than getting stuff for
myself. I buy online for my family. I
shop for mostly clothes because I am not planning on standing in line in front
of Best Buy for a week for a $200 dollar television. My Aunt Kathy and I had a game plan: Macy’s,
Old Navy at midnight, and JCPenneys at 6 am over in the North East Mall area in
Hurst. We left my house at 11:30
foolishly thinking that there wouldn’t be a line at Macy’s and we were wrong.
CHAOS! There were people at every
entrance!
They let us in at midnight and there was some fools that
started running… and thought it was funny.
It was young girls mostly. SMH.
There really wasn’t much on sale with the clothes, very
disappointing. My Aunt scored a pair of
Levi’s and I found a pair of blue print lace pants on sale. I get to the counter and I present my
coupon. I don’t get a discount because
of the Levi’s and because my pants weren’t 25 dollars or more. Pissed wasn’t even
the word. I tried to return the jeans
and for some reason couldn’t so I had to come back and return them.
Next on the list was Old Navy. I knew it would be crowded but I wasn’t ready
for this…
The line was wrapped around the building. The line went past five stores. No.
the lines at Old Navy. No, just no. |
We left in the morning for JCPenneys at 5:30 am and when we
got there was plenty of spaces available on the side we parked on. There was a line but not that bad. The doors opened at 6 am and when we walked
in, chaos ensued. The escalator that
goes down wasn’t on so people were running up the opposite way. I secretly wished that it would turn on and
those people would get screwed. We made
our way to the second floor of where the clothing was and it was calm. Mostly because there wasn’t that many sales
in the clothing depart ment. People were
there for eight dollar crockpots and griddles.
There was a fight that almost broke out over pillows. Yes I said pillows. We were at home by 7:30 am; the lines were
LONG because they have gotten rid of so many cash registers.
running up the escalator... that's supposed to go down... |
We did go to Old Navy on the day of Thanksgiving. It was buy
one get one free, even for the items that were discounted.

I don’t think I can do that ever again.
