Outfit of the Day: 3rd wheel action
Ok, so I was planning for a quiet evening at the house and then I received a text from a friend saying that she wanted me to go out with her and her ex. Anytime that there is an ex involved, I will have your back. She also said she would pay for my beer and that’s always motivation for me.
This is my cool, casual 3rd wheel outfit. Everyone had a good time that was full of laughter, beer and good times (mostly cause the Mavericks won!)
Shirt: JCPenneys Pants: Tommy Hilfiger @ Macys |
Look at that makeup... damn im good
I love Old Navy
I see from time to time a lot of people hating on Old Navy. They say Old Navy is to simple, plain Jane or just down right crap. I disagree with the statement and I love Old Navy. I see Old Navy clothing as a starter piece(s) for something great. Walking into an Old Navy store offers opportunity to be creative and express yourself with clothes. I went into Old Navy on Saturday and they were having one of their famous sales, polo shirts for five dollars. Of course I had to go. Normally I would have been at the store when the store opened, but for reasons beyond my control I couldn’t be there that early. When we got there, we couldn’t find any of the polo shirts on sale. So since I couldn’t find the polo shirts, I went to the back and headed straight to the sale racks. I found an awesome piece that I originally thought it was a dress, but when I got home, it was a jacket. From the picture you can see that it has long sleeves and has a hoodie. I plan to shorten the sleeves and rock it as a dress with some leggings. After looking around the store, I eventually found the polo shirts and I picked out a white and black shirt because you can never have enough of the basics. I also found this really cool purse that I am in love with! It carries my laptop, everything!
$10.99 on sale |
$12.49 (I think) |
Don’t knock Old Navy, it’s cheap and affordable and has items that you can make it your own.

Skirts and Polish
Yes I know I’ve been bad blogger.
A trip to JCPenneys was also made in the last few days. They were getting rid of shoes and they were marked down 50 to 70 percent off. Usually I don’t shop the shoe sale rack at JCPenneys but this time they had my size. I found a pair of black peep toe booties with a nice thick heel for $24.99!! We also went upstairs to the women’s department and you know I headed straight for the sale rack and found a lovely gray skirt.
Anyhoo.
I’ve been shopping in my absence and let me tell you I have been finding some hella great deals and steals that you all need in your life. Ulta had NYX products on sale for 40 percent off. I didn’t even know that Ulta carried NYX products! There were so many products to choose from but I picked three loose pigment eyeshadows, Jade Pearl, Orange Zest Pearl, and Blue (glitter). As we all know, I have to wear a uniform to work, but that does not stop me from expressing myself with my makeup. Actually a majority of makeup was on sale at Ulta, but the most affordable was NYX. Ulta also had some of their products on sale and I found a body wash and bubble bath on sale. They smell awesome and the scent is Lavender Fields.

A trip to the Avenue had to be made since they had a sale going on. For every 40 dollars you spend, they would take 10 dollars off… or something like that. Well I wasn’t seeing much that I wanted, so I took a turn over to the jewelry and sunglasses where I picked out two pairs of sunglasses and elephant ring which were all on sale. I also found a green shirt that I’m having second thoughts about because it might be a little too stretchy on my chest area.
I had read on a few websites on how Wet N’ Wild products are on sale at Walgreens stores and of course I ran over there like my life depended on it. Walgreens had certain lipsticks, liners and nail polishes on sale for 69 cents! YES! This gave me an opportunity to stock up on more items that I didn’t need. Four nail polishes and one eye liner later and I’m ready for summer.

Poor Catherine Zeta-Jones
First Catherine Zeta-Jones had to deal with her husband, Michael Douglas, illness and now she has to deal with her own issues. Zeta-Jones checked herself into a treatment facility for bipolar disorder.
"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder," the rep says in a statement. "She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films."

Saturday Garage Sale finds
As we were driving to work on Friday and we were driving past this that is en route to work and when I looked over, they were having a HUGE garage sale. I seriously considered going in late to work to go hit up this sale. There was a ton of items that were out there and I figured that there would still be stuff out there on Saturday. We were at the church by 7:30 on Saturday and there were at least 20 people already there. The furniture was outside and I took a quick glance at that since I need a new bedframe but no luck in that department. We headed inside and I went for the jewelry. There are certain things that I hate about garage sales and that’s items that are unmarked and of course every single bit of jewelry was unmarked. I found this gorgeous necklace and I asked how much it was and the women said five dollars, and I then put the necklace down. This is a garage sale people! USED ITEMS! I understand that it’s going for a good cause and all, but damn, I’m poor. That’s why I’m shopping at these sales!
I promptly removed myself from the jewelry area and proceeded to the purses and shoes. I searched and searched through the purses and I couldn’t find anything different from what I already had except for a little Louis Vuitton wallet. My Aunt and partner in crime were in the clothes and she called me over. JACKPOT! The first thing she found was some plaid pants. She looked at the size and said it might be too big for me so I went and tried it on, and it fit! As I was trying on clothes, she kept on looking and then she found me two black skirts, a seersucker jacket and skirt and a black and white hounds tooth jacket with a belt. The place had tables and tables of shirts, jeans, and everything else in between. On the tables, I didn’t find anything else for myself but I found tons of stuff for my aunt and my mom. So when we went to check out, the guy priced everything in my hands and said twenty dollars… he didn’t include my aunt’s items. So he started pricing her stuff and I was thinking crap, we are gonna go over our thirty dollar budget. The guy looked at us and said twenty-five dollars for everything! SCORE!
So, we decided to hit a garage sale over by the UNTHSC and when we got there, there were cars all over. We dropped off my mom and parked the car. Parking was a major issue because people were going down the wrong direction in the narrow parking lot. It’s not that major people. So there were tons of tables there and everyone operated their own table. We walked around a little bit, people mostly had kids’ clothes and since I have none, I had no interest in it. We found a table where the woman had everything from books to makeup. I headed towards the makeup. I looked at all the makeup and saw nothing that I really wanted or in the color that I wanted. What I did find was some Clinique cleaning facial products. WINNING! The woman came up and said these magic words: “the more you buy the better deal I make.” I ended buying most of the facial cleaning products and my aunt found me a star toothbrush holder.
We went to one last place for some last minute sales. The Fairmount neighborhood/street was having garage sales up and down the street! YES. We walked up and down that street and visited almost every single yard and bought something. I found a very nice purse, some shoes with stars and some bath salts.
The morning shopping spree ended with Mexican food and beer. Good times.
